Who we are and what we are doing.
Our organization aims to make the transition to a new way of life easier for those who find themselves on this path. We offer a safe home and comfortable accommodations, along with essential provisions such as food, toiletries, and clothing. Additionally, we provide transportation services to help residents secure employment, attend church services, participate in celebrate recovery and AA meetings, fulfill court-ordered obligations, and attend doctor appointments.
Upon completion of rehab or induction into the intervention court program, women are eligible to apply for a room within our foundation. A board meeting is convened to assess each applicant's suitability and determine the availability of space. Once approved, residents must maintain sobriety, comply with court obligations and case manager meetings, actively participate in in-house or public Celebrate Recovery and AA meetings, attend church services, fulfill household chores, and contribute their share of the weekly/monthly rental fees. The set rent fee is $150.00 per week or $600.00 per month per resident. These rental fees are reinvested into the foundation to cover basic needs, transportation, and the maintenance of our transitional living home. Additionally, we utilize outreach programs to raise awareness and generate more resources for our transitional living home. By educating the community and providing opportunities for involvement, we aim to combat this pervasive problem that affects so many individuals in isolation.
Why Us?
Light of Hope Mississippi Inc. aims to collaborate with Harrison County's intervention court program to support and enhance its efforts in empowering women struggling with addiction. Our primary objective is to provide these women with the necessary resources and support to transform their lives, instill hope for the future, and enable them to share their unique talents and gifts with the world, as intended by God. By offering a safe and affordable substance-free living environment, our foundation ensures that women in active recovery have a secure and conducive space to overcome addiction and embark on a path of lasting healing.
Residents will typically stay for an average of 3-6 months within the facility, with longer-term stays yielding better outcomes in their journey towards rebuilding their lives in sobriety. During their residency, residents will be required to attend weekly counseling sessions, participate in life skills classes, and secure employment or enroll in job training programs. Strict rules encompassing curfew, chores, and maintaining sobriety will be diligently enforced to provide stability and foster a sense of accountability.
